But this is because the Veda doesn’t fit their paradigm. In their world there is something called an abstract
But think about it? Have you ever met friendship? Or love? You either feel harmony and friendship or you don’t. When you do you have given birth to Mitra within you
Let us take this further. The so called impersonal is not impersonal in the Veda but can be intimate अंतरंग and close आत्मीय।
And the personal or ego might itself be an abstract. So one must dive into the Veda direct and understand it on its own terms. The Individual is the Universe and the Devas are an integral part of this universe. It is both highly personal and impersonal at the same time

When I was very young, my parents migrated to the Idukki hills from the plains of central Kerala. Traveling there, you could trace “civilization” thinning out with each mile: tarred roads gave way to broken stone, stone led to red mud, and then the red mud vanished too.
