There is an attempt by many who read Sri Aurobindo who try their best to disconnect him from the Indic knowledge systems of the past
They're so ignorant they don't bother to read his works and see his discussions and the synthesis and the new path of integral yoga
The Ashram was not founded to propagate any religion including Hinduism, but to aspire for and manifest the supramental consciousness to usher in the new Age of Truth.
Sri Aurobindo never called Integral Yoga as Sanatana Dharma, did he? He had warned not to confuse spiritual and religious lives. Sorry for another quote. I wonder how those who can't understand a sentence of his, understand his book.
It's really surprising why people don't read The Secret of the Veda by Sri Aurobindo before passing erroneous comments about its content. This is one book which can teach the most about Sanatan Dharma but the so called trads are against it. Sri Aurobindo has turned Veda universal
