interesting that many people here are comfortable with idea of power of ruling India "being transferred" from British to Indians.
Usually independence movements involve power "being won" after fighting the colonial rulers.
British leaving behind rule of India to Indians cannot be equated with the ancient monarchy transfer of power from father King to son.
Hence association of sengol/Raj danda with such a "transfer" of power seems mistaken, IMO.
