Abstract Expressionism

Abstract art is an experimentation deconstructing the realty as often termed realism. At times it starts with reality and by simplifying or exaggerating it moves on to acquire its own identity totally independent of the original inspiration. It may not also draw inspiration from any real form or subject and reflect an artist’s realisations at a given space and time. The major schools of abstract art have been, Cubism(Picasso, Braque), Neoplasticism(Mondriane) and Abstract Expressionism(Thomas Rothko, Jackson Pollock). The paintings of Deb Sanjoy Dutta are experimentations in Abstract Expressionism.
